As an Atlanta Roofing Contractor, Our crews worked through the 2008 hail damage storm that hit the Downtown Atlanta Area. We worked around the clock rendering roofing services to home and businesses owners that were affected by the storm. The hail damage was wide spread through out the metro area. We placed many tarps on residential and commercial roof systems that were damaged. The insurance companies even asked that we assist in the assessment of the storm damage. Our company was proud to be apart of the rebuilding process of Atlanta.
The Atlanta Journal reported that at least 2oo commercial buildings would need their roofs replaced. 1st Choice Roofing Company installed a total 0f 800 square of Hydro Stop cool roof system. The cool roof system was installed on most of the schools in the Atlanta area. Some businesses with a commercial roofing system required that we install Duro Last rubber membrane for the roofing system. We advised against the installation of Built Up Roofs, but some company s still insisted that we install the hot tar gravel roof. The roof we installed the most was Modified Bitumen Torch Down. The Modified Bitumen was the choice by most businesses owners requested.
Residential homes were damaged in a 30 mile radius around the Atlanta perimeter. The staff at 1st Choice Roofing installed more than 500 new roof systems. We installed more than 3ooo squares of Timberline, Architectural, and 3 tab asphalt shingles. The houses in the Atlanta Area are known for their steep sloped roof systems. However, we encountered a fair number of flat roofs. These flat roof systems were covered with Modified Bitumen known as the torch down roof. Some roofs were not removed and therefore they were recovered. This recover is known as a re roof. The homes that did not receive new roofs had repairs performed. Chimney repairs were the biggest majority for the repair department.
Each Atlanta Roofing Contractor was busy to say the least. There were many skylights that had to be replaced due to the large hail stones that struck there glass.
