Hail Damage has caused many roofs to leak. The shingles get broken as the large Hail Stones hit the fiberglass matting. The quickest way to spot Hail Damage is by evaluating the soft metals, such as vents or H VAC pipes. The other way is less convenient and I am referring to major roof leaks. It is not uncommon for a ceiling, wall, or floor to be damaged by rain after a large Hail Storm.
The insurance companies in Georgia have been very cooperative by compensating homeowners with their insurance claim. Roofing Contractors have been busy as well for they are covering homes 6 days a week. The Hail Damage was wide spread and the ice from the storm was very large. I was wondering what the difference was between a Timberline Shingle and a regular 3 tab shingle. My neighbor told me that the Timberline style was a thicker material and therefore was a better product. I know the Timberline Shingle looks very unique in comparrison the 3 tab shingle.
My Roofing Contractor advised me that my roof was too flat for a Timberline style shingle. We were able to get the look of a 30 year shingle with the Atlas Chalet brand. Not only does my roof look great, it is leak free.

We had a customer call the office after hours. Her house was leaking and she needed her roof repaired. There was water entering the house when we arrived at her residence. Since it was 8 p.m. in the evening, we had to install a tarp until the next morning.
The house had been hit by a large hail storm and the shingles were broken. The next morning, the Insurance company was notified of the damage and the adjuster met with our project manager to pay for the roof repairs that were needed. The roof repair encompassed all the pipes, chimney, and valleys. The job was completed in 8 hours and the roof was watertight once again. 1st Choice Roofing is proud to serve our customers!
